Virtual Yoga Classes Yoga
Yoga is a science of the body, mind and soul; it has the potential to systematically clear the barriers that are between us and being fully alive. At Tone and Strengthen we provide many different styles and levels of yoga, so that you can choose what is right for you. It’s time to roll out your mat and discover the combination of physical and mental exercises that have been practiced for thousands of years. No matter your age, weight or fitness level, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. Yoga is for everyone.
Discover the basics of yoga and yoga postures.
In these mid-tempo classes, postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers.
Enjoy the interlacing of movement and breath.
Our Flow classes are designed to foster heat in the body with sequences involving sun salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, arm balancing, and a strong focus on breath awareness.
Dive into your inner stillness
In yin yoga classes the whole-body rests and opens with long held poses, the natural healing power of chi is used to rejuvenate and repair the area of focus. Yin yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Yin yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and invigorating (yang) styles of yoga. Suitable for students of all levels.
Turn inwards and listen to the silence
Enjoy guided meditation. These classes will incorporate breathing and various simple techniques to focus on the breath, quiet the mind and help us turn into the exalted radiance of our hearts.
There are different levels of intensity and complexity and it is important that you choose the right level to take care of your body, and to get the most out of the class.
All yoga classes begins with a centering and a short meditation.
After this the asanas (poses) follow, and the sequence is completed with asanas that cool the body and the mind down. Finally we end the classes with deep relaxation, savasana (resting pose).
In some of the classes there is music, in others a little bit of chanting or a reading, of a couple of beautiful poems to set the heart in motion.
All levels can attend this class, and even the experienced student can find challenges by going deeper into the principals of the poses.
On this level all the asanas are explained in detail and adjustments are made.
There is a focus on working with technique, basic poses, strength and flexibility as build up to level 2 classes.
Level 2 is for the intermediate student who is expected to have knowledge of the different poses.
Less time is spent on explanations and the techniques behind the poses, instead the classes are infused with philosophy, poetry and breathing exercises.
On these classes you should know, or have the guts to, try handstand, headstand (both by a wall), bridge pose and shoulderstand.
On a Mixed Level class, you will be doing yoga at your level.
At what ever level you are, the teacher will strive to support, guide and inspire you from there – towards growth.
Therefore this class is open to all.
