- 1/2 (14.1-ounce) package refrigerated or frozen pie
- 1 ⅓ to 1 ½ cups 2% milk or milk substitute
- 4 large eggs
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 to 2 tablespoons freshly chopped chives
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 ½ cups sliced cremini mushrooms
- ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Pre-bake the crust. Roll dough to fit slightly larger than a 9-inch fluted tart pan. Bake in the oven. Reduce oven temperature to 375°.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Pour in oil, add mushrooms, and saute’ until softened.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, chives, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Spoon the mushrooms and cheese into the crust. Pour in egg mixture and carefully transfer to oven.
- Bake until set about 35 to 40 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm.
